For this project, students were asked to develop a design for an artist's residence and their family in the Marin Headlands Center for the Arts. Working in section, with these parameters offers the opportunity to consider different qualities of sunlight, as they relate to specific indoor (and outdoor) activities, solar heat gain, radiant energy absorption of materials, sensory qualities of light and temperature.
